There Are No Accidents, Change is Positive

Repeatedly I am reminded there are no accidents. Instead our lives are always unfolding and evolving. As a business owner for many years, the changes occurring in the daily lives of running a business, including solving problems, staff and customer adjustments and the high-speed development of technology are constant reminders nothing stays the same. Good will probably come from the changes and pathways will open we may not have imagined.

In her article in the Science of Mind Magazine, No Accidents, Rev. Sally Robins wrote this: "Brothers and soap manufacturers Cleo and Noah McVicker invented a product to clean wall paper in the 1930's. Twenty years later, Cleo's son Joe heard from another family member, Kay Zufall, that the children in her nursery school loved playing with the product. They revamped it and sold it as Play-Doh.
Spencer Silver worked for 3M and was developing a super sticky adhesive, but accidentally invented a low-tack adhesive that could be reapplied and reused. It went nowhere until colleague Art Fry decided to put it on paper and make bookmarks to go in his hymnal for choir practice. Silver gave a sample to his secretary. Soon all the secretaries in 3M wanted samples and the rest is history. Post-its Notes became one of 3M's leading brands.

Richard James, a naval mechanical engineer, was working on springs to help stabilize sensitive instruments on ships. He accidentally knocked over a spring and watched it 'walk' down a series of heights. The Slinky was born.

When Percy Spencer stood in front of a radio wave-emitting magnetron in 1945, he felt the chocolate bar in his pocket melting. He got some popcorn kernels and tried it again, and they popped. This led to Spencer and his colleagues inventing the microwave oven.

There are no accidents in the universe
Sometimes our intentions can lead us down paths we never imagined. These side roads can often be the best part of our lives when we allow Spirit to use us in a greater way. There are no accidents in the universe. All is unfolding perfectly."

Over and over again I forget to remember there are no accidents. When a call for change occurs and monopolies my thoughts with fears and doubts I allow myself to worry and lose sight of the unfolding and evolution that will be sure to come.

Just for today, I will keep in mind there are no accidents.
Just for today, I shall allow myself to play and think of what is still standing in my life.
Just for today, I will be solid in my thoughts and imagine only the good that comes with change.
