The "H" in Hope

The "H" in Hope.  I had never heard the term before until my client Robin, while speaking of how things were getting better in her life said, "I have the 'H' in hope again." It made me consider how often in our lives just the "H" is present, but it can keep us going until the rest of the word shows up.    Life is not meant to have only ups and never downs. Even nature appears to have its downs: hurricanes, earthquakes, snowstorms and too much rain in Arizona. The news is rarely up and mostly down and people still struggle in relationships. Although much has been discovered on the benefits of being happy and cultivating a positive attitude, we tend to turn our cloudy days into hurricanes, shaky conversations into earthquakes, and low blood sugar into snowstorms and too much rain. The "H" drops out of our hope.

Make a Daily List of What is Good in Your Present Life.  Here is my list: ...
  1. No one can adequately describe the joy of becoming a grandparent. Over the years, clients have professed their life-changing experiences of a child born to their child. It is indeed an indescribable experience. I will not attempt to describe the day and every day since. Finn Fusselman, born October 17, three weeks early, 5 pounds 13 oz...the most beautiful baby boy ever!
  2. The Team at Pluma Designs Studio is praiseworthy. Mary Petrich keeps us solid with her steady emotional constitution. Creative and talented with hair, Mary continues to step out of the box and create amazing cuts and colors. Terri Edwards is a talented and fast-moving stylist, and has now become our in-house color expert. Her up-beat personality is contagious and she rocks at cuts, styling and blow-dries! Hailey Moyer and Samantha Nisan, both new stylists, assist and take exceptional care of the clients. They have recently reorganized the salon and there is never a day they are not improving the space to be more efficient. Gotta love that attitude and both also rock at the blow-dries! Both are beginning to grow their client base. Andrea Phillips has joined us and will be part-time as she completes her studies in cosmetology. As her mother has been a hairstylist for many years, Andrea has been in the industry all her life. We welcome her talents to Pluma.
  3. Living Brave...Women in Business, Compelling Stories of How ONE Can Make a Difference, is published. It is available on Amazon.com in both print and ebook. It is also available at Pluma. Mary Beth and I are grateful for the opportunity to have met so many professional and talented successful women. We are thrilled with the results.
  4. The Voices of Success Conference was a huge success. With almost 200 attending, the presentations were extraordinary. We laughed, cried, and ate well...all day. A unique fashion show by Angela Johnson of FABRIC was a hit, and every presenter inspired us. The women and several men attending barraged us with accolades afterward. Mary Beth and I continue to bathe in the warmth of the accomplishment.
  5. Again, grateful for a year of good health, close family, loving relationships and hope.

Find the “H” in Hope

During the month of Thanksgiving, as Mary Beth wrote about love in Living Brave...In Love, "Become brave and fearless and allow yourself to fall in love again." Same goes for Hope, become brave and fearless and allow the "H" in Hope to fill you with love.
